MONGOLIA – INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENINGAND CAPACITY BUILDING

In Mongolia, urban areas in the capital Ulaanbatar and in provincial centres are growing rapidly because of population migration from rural areas. As a result the development of basic urban services such as the provision of water and wastewater has not kept up with this rapid growth.

Under a loan agreement to Mongolia provided by the Asian Development Bank, IWS carried out an assignment to provide institutional and capacity building of local public utility organisations located in targeted provincial cities. The assignment included work on the development of public private partnerships together with project structuring and contract development, and training of key personnel.
